Before moving, I worked extensively in factual development and production. For the past six years, I have worked as a full-time screenwriter. A recent credit includes writing two episodes of the BAFTA-nominated A THOUSAND BLOWS (Disney+), across two seasons, starring Golden Globe winners Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty.
After six years away, I am looking to reconnect with the factual development and production and integrate it into my freelance life. I am open to remote, hybrid or short-term on-location opportunities.
Working as a screenwriter in the UK and Danish industries has equipped me with skills that are immediately transferable to factual development and production. In fact I see these parts of the television industry as two sides of the same coin. For example, when I worked on A THOUSAND BLOWS, the writing team was consulted by David Olusoga and Hallie Rubenhold to ensure period detail and accuracy.
The cross-pollination between screenwriting and factual development/production is clear. From an appetite for journalistic and historical research, to feeding into multiple departments during the production phase, from a proven technical and creative understanding of storytelling itself, to the constant practice of distilling a wealth of information into pitches and then charismatically pitching them to a broad range of buyers, producers and executives.
I am highly self-motivated and accustomed to managing projects independently from concept through to delivery, while maintaining a commercial awareness of audience and market needs.
