Starting my career as an apprentice, I gained hands-on experience across a full range of technical production delivery roles within regional UK theatres.
Transitioning from theatre in 1989, I joined video screen specialists CT/Screenco as a Project Manager. Over four years, I directed touring productions for major artists including Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Prince, while driving business expansion across Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE.
In 1993, I took a brief sabbatical to work as a Production Manager for Harvey Goldsmith, delivering diverse live events ranging from The Shaolin Monks to Pavarotti concerts. During this period, I also collaborated with Spectrum Communications to deliver major European corporate events for British Airways and General Motors. Rejoining Screenco in 1995 as Senior Project Manager, I spearheaded technical operations for high-profile global events, including Nelson Mandela's Birthday celebrations, Eastern European Papal Masses, the Lillehammer Winter Olympics, and the official opening of ExxonMobil's first Fairtrade oil field in Chad.
Promoted to General Manager in 1999 and Director & GM in 2001, I led a 50-person team across the UK and the Netherlands, managing overall daily operations and an annual £12 million budget.
Following a corporate merger and restructuring in 2003, I opted for voluntary redundancy to pursue a career as an independent freelance production specialist.
