I currently run my own business, 'bmd gardens', offering design edits, planting design and garden services. With over 25 years' experience in gardening and running an allotment site, I am always exploring work and opportunities in the Horticulture sector where I can do what I do best - create and enhance beautiful outdoor spaces.  I am also passionate about promoting the positive effects of the natural world on our health and wellbeing and enjoy encouraging people to enjoy the outdoors and their garden.

I have always had a close relationship with the outdoors since early childhood but it has been a progressive journey over many years that has led to me being fully immersed in the Horticultural world.  Before having children, I was all set on a career in theatre and tv but becoming pregnant with my first child altered that route.  Whilst being a parent I consolidated my love of gardening and allotmenting by gaining my RHS Level 2 Diploma and training to become a Garden Designer.  Coming out the other side of parenting, with children moving on, the thought of marrying both careers through Horticultural media is entirely enticing. 
I have been a faithful follower of Gardeners' World for many years and am an avid consumer of horticultural social media. 
My favourite publications are Gardens Illustrated, World of Interiors and the SGLD's Garden Design Digest. Read Less
